winch stopped working with titan solenoid

Post by YankeeDave »

my 6 hp motor stopped working for some reason. I can hear the solenoid clicking over but the motor doesnt sound like it's even trying to work

how do i test this? can i assume the solenoid is working as it is clicking across? with multi-meter neg on battery and pos on f1 or f2 on winch motor i get 12V when i click controller to wind out, but nothing when click to wind in.

Am i supposed to get any Volts when i test the A on the motor?

Any ideas???

all connections seem to be ok.

More than likely the brushes are stuckout in the winch motor. If the solenoid is clicking pretty much it is working.
Had this happen on one of my winchs with a 6hp and same on a mates with a 6hp. they don't seem to be that well sealed.
Undo the 2 bolts that hold the motor on and tap the end cap off and see if its rust in there and see if the brushs are stuck out.
