345 V8 petrol motor
Dana 44 front and rear
34x9.5 swampers
leaf sprung,
8274 High mount

it has a fu#*ing big 4 speed manual with a dana 300 transfer. all up weighs about 100kg (gearbox and transfer)

Yes we did. Mainly Scout 2s. There are not a real lot left around here however.

Kris, the owner of this one has 7 Scout II's and two Scout 80's. The scout 80's were actually assembled here in australia.

Right here in Dandenong, same goes for the D series 4x4, it makes a sham of the Mitsubishi add claiming that their new 4x4 magna is the first Aussie made 4x4.

And things like the Overlander didn't?

The Inter 4x4 was out way before the overlander (as was the Oka), that is why I didn't include it, the Mitsubishi people said some bull about all wheel drive V 4 wheel drive or something like, that but if my memory serves me well, I think that the Inter D series panel van had a badge on the back that said "ALL WHEEL DRIVE".

You are corect Scott, I meant the Oka was out before the Magna.
I can remember being driven to kindergarten in the early 60's by my mum in an OLD 4x4 inter, many happy memorys of that truck.

Don't be confussed with all the xxx on a L/C chassis that where all the rage back then, I am not an overlander buff at all but I thought they used Dana diffs and transfer case, if I am wrong I am sure someone will chime in.

I dunno heaps about them, bit I do know that they had dana diffs and garfted in leaf suspension . (defiantely not on a crusier chassis)

is anyone interested in buying a 63 international scout (curently being rebuilt) it has a ford 250ci 6 cyl in it, 3 sp manual, twin stick transfer, roll bar, tow bar, rust all cut out, hilux indicator assembly,sports steering wheel, bucket seats, all electrics work, starter just been fully reco'd, doesn't need a lot to finish
will trade for small 4x4 (suzuki, daihatsu etc. prefer 74 model or earlier)

AFAIK the scouts where built from knock down kit form now if you take that then try Late 40's for the Willy's wagaon built here in Australia in several factorys around the country from knock down kit form

After that all the AMC Jeeps were all so built from this.
