Hey all,
the carbie on my 3Y motor for my 4runner seems to leave the auto choke on, and the previous owner has taken the butterfly off so there is no choke now.
so what would be the problem for the auto choke staying on?
Cheers
Dan

mate i got a 4y and i hav had endless problems with my carb.
first it was the auto choke wouldnt go off.
2nd it wont idol (idol jets bloked)
3rd it doesnt giv the car enough fuel.it splutters a bit when u flog it.
i hav spent over $450 on my carb and it still doesnt run properly so im buyin a holley carb for it cus it will run better and will giv it a bit more power with extractors and exhaust.just a thought 4 ya.

Choke staying on means to much fuel to air...
and tends to drain your fuel tank a lot quicker with no added benifit..
rip it off or lock it open..
just give the right pedal a jab when starting it cold...
