Vit efi idle playing up

Post by gumtree »

ok i have a 93 efi vitara and a couple weeks ago the engine started to idle crap. it idles fines then wants to die/stall then goes back to normal then randomly repeats this when it feels like it.

half a yr ago i put in e10 fuel and did same and stoped when i put normal fuel in so i always use normal unleaded since. any ideas?

i know it way be hard over the net but if i cant get some ideas to check that would be good.

i run e10, no probs, 350000kms...

most standard unleaded from servo's have a litte sign at the bottom which says contains enthanol.- even tho they have e10 bowsers.

most prob not fuel, check your airflow meter, and pci valve

airflow meter is connected to your air filter box plug on it.. check the plug is connected good, unplug it and see if there is a difference, if no difference it could be playin up..

the pci valve is at the back of your inlet manifold, take your pipework off and blow the throttle body out with throttle body cleaner, that can sometimes clean it up

PCI - do you mean PCV valve (positive crankcase ventilation). This may be blocked. Check your throttle body for crud, and clean it out, as well as the IACV.
