Idle check

Post by CORTY »

Hi everyone

I have a NL exceed 3.5 just wanting to know is there any way of checking the idle speed.
EG. on my el fairmont a pin out which gets earthed and computer goes into self test mode then timing and idle speed can be changed.
Can this be done on my pajero?

I have cleaned the idle valve.
Maybe cleaning the throttle body may help?

Any help would be great.

There is a brown single pin connector on the firewall. ( LH side on my NJ, should be similar for NL) Earth this pin and it will put the ECU in base timing and idle mode. From there you can adjust the base idle without the IAC self adjusting it.
