As far as an indecent proposal goes, I'd accept nothing less than $100,000 to tolerate buggery. Any less and it's just not worth the psychological trauma.
By crikey, let me get this right by buying a prepaid ticket you have chance to win the old big yella bus?
that'd have to be the biggest entry prize to date in oz?????(4 the wheeling community), although i haven't seen it since TT06ish, so unless it's been striped down to a baby mall cruiser????

Yes we are running a comp next Feb and yes we are givng away Petes old bus as the door prize for the comp.
I've been on the road all week getting to some rural 4x4 shops giving them some promo material for the comp which is why I haven't updated the facebook info. I've had a bunch of calls for details and will try and get all the info up tomorrow.
Rear steer is not essential but we are using similar tracks to the one's we use for the business and they're pretty brutal. We've blown up two of the big nissan diffs and ARBs at the new site so we're upgrading them to Dana80's at the moment. (Which is why you haven't heard much from us for a while).
For those who want a look at the new track watch 'Getaway' 18th June (not sure times for interstate) haven't seen the segment yet but should give you some idea.
Cheers
Chris

If what I am reading is correct the prize is drawn at the 4x4 show which is before the event. But you get to compete in the truck you win so why wouldn't you show up??????

It's drawn before the event, so you don't have to attend... It'd be a cheap truck hey!TRobbo wrote:so if I buy the prepaid tickets do I have to turn up to watch to go into the door prize or is that enough for my entry?
That is also correct... but hey, if you win and you don't want to attend i'd be happy to sacrifice my weekend and drive it for you.napsta wrote:If what I am reading is correct the prize is drawn at the 4x4 show which is before the event. Tickets are (not suprisingly) selling reasonably quick.. Get your mates together!

A little more info:
After a few years in the making Ragged Edge will be holding it’s first 4x4 Event in Werribee Vic over the weekend of Feb 27th-28th 2010.
In late 2008 Ragged Edge moved from Port Melbourne to the Melbourne 4x4 Training and Proving Grounds in Mt Cottrell, just out of Werribee. This will be home to the Ragged Edge ‘Outlaws Competition.’
We’ll be giving away the truck that Pete Antunac won Tuff Truck 2005 & 2006 with (and 3rd 2007) as a door prize to one of the first 2,000 spectators that purchase a weekend pass to the competition for $55. Tickets are now on sale and can purchased directly from Ragged Edge 4x4: email chris@raggededge.com.au or call 0428 737 864 or from Dan at Rally Motors Geelong (03) 5222 1777.
The truck is now getting overhauled and will given away in ‘ready to compete condition’ with the 454, four wheel steer, hydraulic suspension and a (new) set of 49’s. The door prize will be announced on the 6th September at the new National 4x4 Show at the Royal Show Grounds so you don’t have long to buy tickets.
The competition itself will be Tuff Truck style with a few key changes. The 4x4s must still appear based on a production 4x4. Vehicles must have two seats side by side, front mounted engine, minimum 39” tire, box section or original chassis between A-pillar and B-pillar. For more information e-mail me. You will need either rear disconnects or rear steer (pref both) to get through the courses so one or the other is a minimum requirement. Oversized pro mod buggies will be eligible.
We will be building purpose built tracks at Werribee for the event. As you can see my focus is on a big crowd with the door prize give away. We’ve had well over 1,000 people drive our 4x4’s both in Port Melbourne and Werribee and the question I get asked the most from these guys is “where do we see comps?” Most of my clients have never heard of our scene but want to; I figure this is the best way to show them. I’ve been very fortunate to have the full support of Pete Antunac who’ll be bringing down his new 40, Phil Noble will be bringing his big GU and Mal Van alphabet will be bringing his Bush Rangie. Mark Mitchell is bringing his Zuk and I have a few other entries in the pipeline. I know there are a bunch of other cool trucks sitting in sheds around the country so please let me know if you’re interested. Places will be capped at 24 and I have 10 starters already. I’m still working on Prize Money but last place prize money is the same as the entry fee ($450).
Entry to the first comp will be by invitation only so send me pics and specs. The key things I’m looking for are strong, capable and presentable. There won’t be deep mud or big vert rock ledges but there will be everything in between so you will need a versatile 4x4. I can tell you it will need to side hill like a MO FO to be competitive.
The comp area has lights so there will be night driving on the Saturday but there will be no camping on the property (it’s less than 30mins to Melbourne CBD)
There will be more information to follow but if there are any questions I will try and answer them as soon as I’m able.
Thanks
Chris

Thanks for the support; tickets are selling quick. Only 11 weeks to go for the door prize!
The unofficial entants list so far is:
1. Door price winner FJ45
2. Pete Antunac FJ40
3. Malcolm Van Ysseldyk Bush Rangie
4. Phill Noble GU
5. Mark Mitchell Zuk
6. Nick Hirons Jeep
7. Michael DePasquale Jeep
8. Sam Overton (Under construction)
I'm still waiting to hear back from a few more guys.
Does anyone have contact details for Matt Wilmshurst (Zuk 404)?
The Ragged Edge website is still a few weeks away from being updated with full comp details but it is coming.
Bad news is 'Getaway' have to postpone the show with Ragged Edge; show was too long so hopefully that won't be far away. Pity; we found three new roll-over locations when Jules Lund was driving.

Speaking of obsticals... I had some thoughts in regards to the conversation we had the other day about the venue... Old cars? shipping container? all make for good obsticals..Ragged Edge 4x4 Werribee wrote:Cool, we need more obstacles.
