commodore v6 dry sump setup

looking that fitting a v6 in a hilux and want to run high steer and want to keep the motor as low as i can so i was think of running a dry sump setup

can it be driven on the road (daily driven/long camping trips)?
is there a complete kit you can buy?
how much?

if there is no complete kit what parts are best to use

i run a v6(commodore) in my lux and histeer will fit no prob if you fit a 2" dropped front crossmember.
i wouldnt think that it would be worth the expense of a dry sump just for this reason?

Now doing general fab work and painting
trays, trailers, engine swaps on request, some tube work, silo section sliders, rust repairs, ute chops etc

How about shifting the motor back.
You would prob have to go to far back but.
getting HALF CUT ready for mudbash 09.

Dry sumping a motor purely for that reason is uneconomical, the thousands that it costs in pumps/tanks/hose & fittings is a little crazy, it is just another thing to go wrong 500k's from home, a simple notch in the sump would solve the problem, or a dropped x member as has been said above.

this is some pictures of my frist hilux it was running a v6 motor, 2" drop cross member, 2" springs and shackles and was not running a body

and the drag link hit and damaged the sump

and this is how it looked after i got the sump notch anf fitted ifs rear springs

this is how i want it to look like when it's finished

Everything is a compromise, money, centre of gravity, ride height, uptravel etc etc


With a ride height like that your going to have to lose one of the above to gain what you want.

That last pic has a good stance.
Just run some progressive bump stops and just use all droop, very little compression.
Can you take any more out of the sump?

G'day, I was having the same dramas after installing hi-steer so knocked up a rear drop sump, works great.
