I havent seen anything RE:- the new production class event for some time.
* is it still happening.
* is it still in late August.
* is it still at the Springs or the New Beaudessert site.
* are there any more competitors entered than :-
# MATT & CO
# FESTER & CO
# WALLY & PIGLET
& I know gut42 hasnt put his V8 in yet, so he wont take much talking around

MMM, What if you were to run r3 reguardless of numbers, even if it were just as an exabition and not competition? It may attract some more people who arent sure what to expect? Id also drop the groud achor in favour of a gps or something? It may make it more attractive to newcomers.

What are your thoughts?

At the moment I am at Kurumba counducting my 4 WD Angel Adventure and leaving for Mt. Surprise this morning.

I do hope I do have more then 3. I have also included the ladies into this event.

So by adding the Ladies numbers should be around 7.

Due to set up & cocts I need at least 10 Teams.

I will be back on deck 13 July.

matt moore here i just got back from mackay with new project i hope this a goer as it goes in sortly for roll cage etc and what the go with air bags can we pull out fuse or relay

Hi Dave, in regards to the Production Class XWC.
What do you get from the entry fee, apart from pleasing the croud with the chance of your daily driver being destroyed, (worse case) I understand that competing in these events or any event, is the risk we take, its the challenge of you and ya navi pushing the vehicle and competing against other teams with the same mindset, to hopefully get a trophy or something. thats not the point I'm getting at. But for $380 - $430, what do we get? A T-shirt, cap and a stubbie cooler!!!
Please forgive my ignorance, as i'm interested in starting to compete, and there's no mention of what the competitors get for entering an event.

Yes Gut Come N play...

Big Sigma daves fees arnt that bad when you look at his expenses, there are ather events you could enter production class in like outback challenge, yes it go's for 7 days,thats 4 more than daves, & yes you get a DVD, shirt, & 1 dinner but the entry is over $3500, & then you have to get out & back to braken hill. So when you do the math, its not that expen$ive to do daves..

it was only a question, I wasn't sure what the deal was thats all. I'm slowly working on setting my 4b up to production class specs. A bit more time and $ won't go astray either. The only thing stopping me now is the roll cage and a bigger motor 4 the winch, other wise i'd compete in August. Any idea if theres another one this year.

Entries close 10th August, that means payment in and not a "yes I will be there". Reason for this is that I have been caught a few times too many this year.

Payment is to be made with entry, if invoice is required it will be raised after payment. It is up to you to secure payment from your sponsors.

Again I have been caught out this year regards sponsors payment. So the easiest way is for you to pay and get payment from your sponsors.

If not enough numbers, Production will start in 2010.

I know that you have only had a short time (nearly 12 months) to get prepared for this event so I apologise for the early cut of date.

I will make the call if it is on or not on the 11th August.

Any money paid for entry will be returned if called off.

Venue to be confirmed.

Piglet & wally are ready & paid for all 3 rounds in advance, but I would rather hold back & wait until 2010 until the event gets the numbers...
I dont want to see this event be a failure, & a poor attendance will not help, & the last thing we want is major sponsors becoming less interested to come on board for naming rights to the event...

So come on guy & gals get ya old family busses out of the shed, throw in ya cage & come have some fun, thats what where out there for...
Jeez we cant be that competitave in an 89 gq turbo diesal that has more than 500,000 klms on the clock & me (piglet) as the fat assed navi tryin not to croak it gettin up the hills... I dont even want to get out of the car as the air conditioning & sterio work gr8

NO LEPAR, THAT WONT HAPPEN. but we are seeing what the penilty is ,for letting some young fit,1/2 mountain goat sorta fella ,run all our winch stuff up the hills.while we sit in the car with the air-con going.YOU KNOW!!!!!!!! you dont want to open up the door, it might let all the cold air out. & if I did get out Wallypop would eat all the lolloies.

PRODUCTION IS POSTPONED UNTIL FUTHER NOTICE.

So it looks like those guys that have built must be hiding.

Next event for you is the XI in September or Round 3 in October

What's extreme production. Is this just another extreme winch challenge. With likes of piglet racing thats not production to me. Not having a go at him he is a top driver and truck is awesome,but the truck is not off the production line. (Or unless there in another truck)
Im thinking of the lines of qg's,gu's.80's ect utes and wagons with 33's -35's lockers,winch.
