She Started Smoking!!!

Post by Wozza244 »

Just did an oil change today
The 2H was fine, had good power output with extractors and turning 35's
And then i went for a trip up some huge hills, generally hard driving for about a solid hr
Its power hasnt really changed, maybe dropped a little
Now its constantly blowing smoke (Black)
What would have happened all of a sudden to make it start using this much fuel and blowing all this smoke?

Clean your air filter and run some Diesel power or similar product through the fuel system and see how it goes.

Black smoke = Excessive fuel, giving it more throttle up same hill?, dirty air filter, bad fuel etc.

does it idle high? and do the 2h's have a governor diaphram on the injector pump?

I have had bit plumes of black smoke and high idle when this governor has had a hole in it with my 3b. it was a $30 part.

There is a 10mm bolt on the rear of the fuel pump facing outwards. Take this bolt out and let all the oil drain out ( this will take a while!!). Then see how it goes. This goes into a cavity where the diaghram operates the fuel rack.
