Yep, basic rule, if it's there, it has to work.
99% you'll be up for a screen. I've been up for a screen even with no cracks- wiper scratches are enough.
If you don't like it, you can shop another RWC place, but most are pretty anal about screens.
Steve.

As far as I am aware, if the chip in the windscreen is not with in a certain veiwing range of the driver then it should be ok. Below where the windscreen wipers park should not be a problem at all.
Back out the steering stops on the swivel housings until the tyres no longer rub. That will solve that problem. Make sure the tester is aware that the tyres no longer rub if rubbing marks are obvious.
PM me if you need the name of a fair rwc tester.

X2, but you will probably need to get your gas sorted. The anal testers will do a full road test including switching from gas-petrol etc. Normally it wouldn't be an issue, however because your car wont idle on gas it will present a problem if the tester was just going to do a stationary test.amtravic1 wrote:As far as I am aware, if the chip in the windscreen is not with in a certain veiwing range of the driver then it should be ok. I'm sure if you got someone "fair" to test it and mentioned that it was going in for a tune, they'd pass it.
RE: windscreens: I've been knocked back for wiper scratches, tiny pits in the glass, however the last test i got passed with a small chip "because it did not interfere with the drivers vision/line-of-sight. I have another RW check due this week with a similar problem - hopefully they'll pass it again.
When i was doing rwc's (just over a year ago) a chip/scratch/sandblasting and cracks in windscreens all pass so long as its not in the area cleaned by the wipers.
If its inside the wiper arc it is not rwc.
So long as the tank is in date and lpg system is safe, ie no leaks and hoses secured correctly etc etc i would pass the lpg even if it didnt run.
tyres rubbing i would pass or adjust the stops for the client.
We where relaxed but safe!!!
If a car was sus as we would get really hard on it.
Unfortunatly for you there wasnt to many landys/rangies we passed. Not saying yours is the same but most had suspension issues with bushes, engine and trans oil leaks and all the rest of your electrical issues. etc etc we would write up a list as long as our arm because we didnt want to sign off on it.
