My Lux has a fairly healthy V8 in it, with Dual throttle bodies, a Sanden compressor, Aircon, Power steer and tubbed inner guards it's already a stupidly tight fit.
Does anyone run a rear mounted radiator on their street driven rigs ?
Does it work ok ?
and how did you mount it and the required fans?

The biggest issue most people have is not supplying sufficient air flow, my setup ran a rear radiator with a roof scoop and at cruising speeds the fans never ran, many people fit the radiator too close to the cab and in such a way that the air dosen't flow through the radiator and as a result have issues with cooling at high speeds. A bit of though to where the air is coming from and going to without the aid of fans will make a huge difference. It can work really well if done correctly.
Yeah, I had thought of the air "scoop" over the cab, but really couldn't be arsed making one, I just want the damned thing on the road!!!
Most of the Buses I work on have rear mounted radiators. Volvo's and Scanias have massive thermostat controlled Hydraulic fans and almost never have issues, The Merc's are belt driven and always overheat on a hot day.
At the end of the day, if the Radiator is big enough and has enough airflow it'll work

Set it up with the biggest fan or fans you can possibly fit, give a bit of thought to air flow, and go for it. If you intend to take it off-road then a scoop set-up is kind of irrelevant since it only kicks in at higher speeds. In other words your electric fan(s) have to be able to keep up with the engine even when it's working hard, without help from "wind" produced by high road speeds.
Personally I would consider leaving the a/c condensor up the front with a separate fan, to keep it simpler... if you have room. Remember one 16" fan is probably going to outperform two 14" ones, so just go the biggest you can fit. And you need to cowl it so it blows through the whole radiator, especially if you are not getting that road-speed wind through it as well.
Its not fitted yet, but this is for my 1.6 EFI turbo sierra. Rear mounted ofcoarse. Its a twin pass PWR unit custom made to my specs. Was around $1300 I think.
It has twin, shrouded 14 SPAL fans that move 1700 cfm each. Should be enoungh to keep anything cool.

I tried to imagine the flow over the cabin at speed, angled the front down used the fans to push thru , worked a treat and as ive said before on this
Build usable air purge pionts into the system at the highest spots front and rear.,
