warn winch m8000 tips

Post by andy1517 »

guys,

just picked up second hand winch from a guy on outers.

Warn m8000. seems ok for its age.

A couple of things. Can someone provide me with some pics of how they have mounted it.
Also some pics of the actual solidnoid box and where it powers from (where to connect positive and negativ terminals)

Also it seems that only one direction works? The other direction makes a clicking noise from one of the terminals i think.

Not too sure.
Will strip down and have a play tonight.

Any info or pics would be MUCHLY appreciated.

Thanks

The solenoids are buggered. You'll either need to find the stuffed ones and replace them with new ones or just go buy a aftermarket control box which are usually sealed from the elements and are more reliable than the warn units.

Best thing to do is pull the whole thing apart, except for the brake in the drum as they are a pain in the ass to get back in, put it through a parts washer or give it a good clean up and regrease. Don't pack the gearbox full of grease as it will make it super hard to freespool out.
