Hey guys, I’m new to the 4x4 scene, I recently got the families old 80 series, with the instructions “do what you want with it, but keep it legal”..
So here I am funding a 4x4 project on a students budget (yeah i know, pushing shit up hill). I’ve already purchased a 2” lift kit, and was thinking about running 33’s. I’ve read in acouple of places that there was a brake upgrade on the 80 series sometime in 1993 (not 100% sure), and this would mean I would I’d have to run a 16” rim?
I’ve rang around acouple of places, and running 33’s on a 16” rim seems a fair bit more expensive than running 33’s on a 15” rim.. so I was wondering the best way to get around this issue was, I was thinking possibly even installing brakes from a early 80 series so I could fit 15” rims? (would this be cost efficient/safe/legal?). Or just biting the bullet and forking out the $$$ for the extra 33’s on a 16” rim
cheers
