Gemini 1600 auto into Zook

Post by jtraf »

Hello all,

Was out with my bro on the weekend and found that the 1ltr just does not have enough mumbo to keep his zook powering on now with the 31in MTR's on.

We were talking about doing either a 4k or 5k coralla conversion cause that is what people seem to be doing for a cheaper upgrade and you get the bonus of a 5 speed box.

However we have been thinking that maybe the 1600 out of a gemini with an auto may be the way to go. Has anyone done this and is it viable, or is it better to do the coralla conversion.

cheers

well I may be a bit byest for the gemini, but why not try the 1800 gemini with either 5 speed or auto. or even the 2L G200 rodeo motor. I think this would be a great swap and am considering doing it myself, but want to save up a bit first. the advantage of an auto will be good for crawling, but not as good on the hyway or going down steep hills. it depnds on what you intend to use it for as to what you should put into it. this is just my opinion though, so do some research fisrt.

tried this one 8years ago with a 1600 and 5s .Shortend 5s so i would not have to move tcase but bell housing hit on diff pinion. Spring over, it should work fine but i scraped it and put in a 5k as it has more power and torque than any other carby motor under 1600 cc hope this helps
