Hi There.
A mate of mine has a 47 series ute and wants to put in a air locker , but needs to know how to tell the difference between a full floating and semi floating diff , he needs to know prior to purchasing the locker .
Any help on the subject would be appreciated .
Cheers.
Braudy

I'd sugest its a 40 axle that was originally drum brake. It has been converted to disc. It appears to have plated rotors and wheel spacers. The wheel spacers are there because the studs used are from the front and are too long. The calipers are floating type and mounted on the front rather than rear. I'd imagine the caliper brackets are custom, possibly the backing plates are too, but could be front ones swapped side to side. To make the rotors work the hub and rotor need to be machined to match each other.. This is very similar to my RDB conversion, but I'm just curious whos done it, as it looks like its been photographed in such a fasion that its advertised for sale.
