Hi all, im new to the forum.
I own a 94 Sierra, its pretty stock at the moment. Had it for nearly a year now and im looking in to a lift kit. I have seen many around for zooks, and was originally interested in a 5" lift from snake for about $2000 as it gave big lift.http://72.34.32.141/~snakerac/product_i ... e805b52ca2
Now im more swinging towards a 2-3" kit from 4wd1, its around the same price but seems a bit better suited to what i need it for.. For now. http://www.4wd1.com/zook.htm#lift(Stage 2 - Rancho/RockCrawler).
What are your thoughts on this kit? and
Anyone know any better kits out there?

What exactly are you looking for in a suspension kit? (more flex, load carrying, smooth ride, clear bigger tyres, just more height)
And do you want a complete bolt in kit, which needs no modifying?
If you dont mind drilling a couple of holes, a Half ruf is a pretty good mod for more flex.
Are you on a budget at all? ($2000 is more than i'd personally spend on a sierra suspension lift)

It depends on what you want to do with your car.
A 5 inch lift on a otherwise standard sierra is huge.
What do you want such a big lift for?
A 2inch suspension lift is fine for travel and then a 2inch body lift depending on what tyres you want to run, and remember that when you change one thing theres usually other things you need to change, such as brake lines.

Im looking for mainly more height to clear bigger tyres. And help me to get a bit further in the bush, the stock suspension is pretty shot from wear and tear thus the lift.
Was more trying to get a bolt on kit. But that could change really fast.
I am kind of on a budget, just depends about the options out there. I would like to keep it pretty cheap, but i want something that will last.

Suspension lift does not clear bigger tyres, it just means they rub less often, but when they do, they will rub just as badly as with standard suspension.
Body lift, bumpstop spacing and guard cutting clears tyres. You modify suspension to improve flex, ride and handling.

[quote="nicbeer"]What size tyres have are u going to use?
if u looking at 31 or under then go for simple and it works.
ARB OME 2" (40mm) lift kit and 2" bodylift.[/quote
That's what i would personally go for and then save your money for lockers than theres not much need for flex.
if your thinking of going bigger than 31's then you will wanna look at different gear. other wise you find your car really sluggish i would recommend lower gearing ratios anyway lots better for 4wding.

Yeah i wasn't looking at going any bigger than 31's. Now its just a matter of shopping around for prices. Thanks for all the help, now im not going to be wasting my cash, and saving more for other mods.nick.gooding wrote:nicbeer wrote:What size tyres have are u going to use?
