BNMotorsports - Australia’s first King of the Hammers Team

Post by napsta »

Australian team to compete for entry to the 2010 King of the Hammers.

BNMotorsports Ultra 4 Race Team are preparing to take on the Nevada desert in the upcoming Best in the Desert Vegas to Reno race in August 2009. Competing in the proven Randy Built Bomber custom off road racer, the team will be going hard to gain a start at the 2010 Hammers race. Australian driver Ben Napier and co-driver Dave Camp are teaming up local racer Randy Slawson to undertake the grueling 1000 mile race. In what will be the extreme test of drivers and machines, the team is excited about the challenge ahead. As Ben and Dave’s experience lies in rock crawling, competing for Australian teams Sydney Rock Crawlers and Rock Rash Racing respectively, the desert is a new experience for the 2 Aussies, and so we have teamed up with some of the best local talent, and to ensure our team has the guidance to succeed.

When looking at committing to this race, we wanted to turn up in a vehicle that would not only go the distance, but would kick some arse doing it. We believe the Bomber is the vehicle to do it in, and teaming with Randy Built reflects the quality and professionalism in Randy’s design and workmanship. Randy Built will be race prepping the Bomber to ensure it will go the distance. Specifications for the Bomber are currently being finalised and will be published shortly.

Part of the Ultra 4 race series, the Vegas to Reno race is one of the newest and quickest growing off road classes. Ultra 4 consists of several genres of racing, from desert races, trail races to hill climbs and rock crawls, culminating in the ultimate desert race, the King of the Hammers. With the diverse range of terrains and speeds covered, the vehicles must be designed to allow ultimate performance in as many disciplines. Qualifying spots to King of the Hammers are available to top finishers in each Ultra 4 competition and it is sure to be an exciting sport to watch and follow.

The Vegas to Reno race consists of 1000 of the toughest off road miles in the Nevada desert in the extreme heat of August. A 3 day race, the team will be pushed to the limit daily and will gain some much needed desert experience in preparation for the Hammers. Ben Napier will be the Driver of Record.
