No alterations to mounting locations.

There wont be teams. All individual entries

so i take it if you put in longer leafs and moved your mounts either forward or rearwards to accomadate them that means no go ?

oh well i guess the zooks out , and yes it is a tough tourer , bl00dy tough driving it anywere on the road let alone long distances :D :D

Pity the rules couldnt be brought in line with Willowglen. I wont be able to compete and I, like many others dont have the money to accommodate for each and every competition.

Hope it goes well

Shame about the rules
Good luck with this event .
Like CanberraMav I am dissapointed with the new made up classes , these limited classes wipe out most of the comp vehicles in our club . Most will still attend but will be forced to drive their tow vehicles or the wife's daily driver .

thats the idea!!
from what ive read in this thread, classic nissan trials is designed to be a step up from son of trials, but not quite the usual nissan trials.
more designed at the guys that have daily driver 4bys and dont want to risk their only mode of transport in a more serious comp. more for fun than serious comp.
if youve done entry levels comps then this would be the next step up before going to a comp such as willowglen or trials.
if my lux is up to it, i might enter, but ill be there to check it out either way.
personally, i think there should be more comps for entry level/daily driven 4bys.

Boring, I can go out any weekend and do entry level stuff . The problem I have with all this is that in the past the comps have been getting harder and harder in order to break our trucks & make it exiting for the spectators, so most of us have had to build bigger & better trucks in order to compete & keep our vehicles in one piece. Then the rules get changed & those who have supported & grown the sport miss out.

RUN YOUR OWN EVENT!!! You go out find a venue that can handle 100 comp trucks, a couple of thousand spectators camping then build tracks with a only a handfull of club members then loose the site then 8 months out from the event then go out and do the whole thing again.
The club can't build tracks to suit open or outlaw at river island so why run an event for them that would be like wheeling at a woolies carpark

The NPC can't run the Nissan Trials as we all love at the moment due to outside issue so the club is at least running an EVENT. Yes it won't be the trials as it was a SORRA but at least people can have a fun weekend with a bit of friendly competetion.

i agree its a shame the larger trucks cant drive, yes it includes my comp truck, but atleast the nissan club have got something going in its place, it still caters for the standard and mildly modified guys,

Good on all the Patrol club members that have got this event going, we will still most likely attend to cheer on our fellow club members, so it will be a great weekend,

you say the club can't build tracks to suit open or outlaw at river island , yet you allow engine swaps (that is classed as open class ) yet the cars that are run in modified class in nissan trials with 36" 37" etc and reverse shackle and changed suspension mount points etc are not allowed to run .

so its nothing like classes in n/t it is just son of trials allowing what is pretty standard on alot of 4by's these days (lockers 35's etc ) correct ?

i agree with what shady said . the comps get harder , so we build bigger and stronger , even to the point of staying in the guide lines of what the modified class is allowed to run than you end up with a comp you can no longer compete in . oh well its the nissan club's comp so i guess what they decided is what will happen .Their comp their rules far enough .

and before you say start my own comp i just might and you won't be invited :D :D just kidding , you can come i just gotta get approval from either coles or woolworths

build it (your car ) and they will come (down in tyre size ) :D

anyway hope to see yas there (in my daily driver)

My wife's daily driver doesn't fit in either coles or wollies carpark , maybe you can find one with an open air paking lot to run the event .

Calm down!!! don't let them get to you.
The majority of us have read the ENTIRE thread and understand the TEMPORARY problems the Nissan club are experiencing and will support the Trials when they return with all the classes.

I'm looking forward to having a go at this. The 4Runner's not up to regular Nissan Trial's standards. The question now is do I leave the detroit in the back and go into tough touring or put the old centre back in and go for touring class? So many decisions......

Looking forward to it :)

I think this is a Comp that fills in the gap.

Son of Trials is a Gymkhana, good for stockers

Willowglen is a great Comp, but needs a good truck and like it has been said trucks have been getting bigger and bigger.

This version of the Nissan Trials will be a good stepping stone for people with no comp experience but who find Son of Trials to easy.

Great idea, and if you think about it, all of these style of comps are ment for "Registered" vehicles with the way the law is going with lifting trucks (legally) it is getting harder to make a new comp truck and have it registered (legally ;) ) so this comp should be spot on.

Good luck and I hope I can make it.

new laws would mean everyone with a "legal " vehicle can run in son of trials ;)

Hi there everyone, We have a meeting tomorrow night and will discuss a few of the grey areas. what we all need to remember is this is a comp to fill in the void of this years Trials. I know some of you boys' trucks are too big to quailfy for Classic trials so just pack the esky and come watch this year because there is no reason we can see that the Trials will not happen as usual, at SORRA in 2010. So far it looks like only the tuff tourers will need to register all others will rock up but as I say will clarify some of these questions after tomorrow night.
