Hi Guru's out there, can anybody tell me if the R151 and G52 gearbox's interchangeable? Thanks, Nick.

No I think bellhousings are different, they have the same block pattern but different box pattern.

Also transfer case adapters would be different. hilux g52s had gear drive t/f's while the R151s had chain t/fs.

Definitely not plug and play, you'll need bellhousing to suit.

Apart from the IFS, just about every part of a V6 4Runner is better than a Hilux and worth swapping over. Breaks, gearbox, rear diff....
