lift size, x member pack size and control arm length

Post by waandy »

have noticed my shorty still makes dirty noise after putting 31s on for rwc. im guessing because of the higher rpm due to small tyres.
just wanted to see what other combinations people run. think it might help a few people out to.
at the moment im running:
4 inch lift,x member spaced 24mm, rear lower arms lengthened 18mm
what are u guys running to correct all the asosiated problems with big lifts in swb's and lwb's?
cheers

I find myself coming back here because I got my shorty back... weird... anyways.

Although you might have the transfer and pinion angles parallel or withing 2? degrees, you may find the angle is a bit steep for the U-joint hence the growl... Or maybe your outputs are still out ? If you have a mate with some adjustable arms, see if you can pinch them for a weekend and play around.

Only way I got rid of mind was d/c joint rolling the pinion up so there was no angle on the uni-joint, rewelding coil and shock mounts.
