Whats this ball from? Hilux Gearbox

Post by Weiner »

Hi guys,

Pulled the gearbox off the bellhousing, and out popped this ball bearing.

For the life of me I can't figure out where it goes.

Anyone have any ideas, it came out of whats in the background.

No idea, but it's probably meant to have a spring behind it and makes something click ;)

Maybe that notched shaft on the right?

Can't find anywhere it will sit.

Have noticed a spring thing in the other half of the case it would go into but not sure how the spring would sit with it

Where that notched shaft goes thru the housing there should be an allen key plug that you can remove. Take the plug out and behind that there should be a spring. So when it goes back togather you put the cases together then fit the ball first then the spring then fit the plug.
