Jimny rrunning rough at lower RPM

Post by jarrod73 »

Hey all - the GFs jimny has been running a bit rough in the Low RPM range for a month or so now. - doesnt matter if its cold / hot whatever, from about 1,000 to 3,000 RPM runs a bit rough, missing, then at 3 - 3,500 comes good, revs well. So - of to the mechanic it goes.

Phone call this arvo - mechanic says " it needs Two new ignition coil packs, new ignition leads, new plugs, air filter, computer diagnosis of engine, and injector clean. that'll be $1,100 thanks...

I pick myself up off the floor, and say, :$1,100 - jesus, its only worth 6 grand, we havent got that sort of money, - can you just get it runiing a little better, and we'll have to save up ?? - he says yep, we'll do the plugs and air filter, that'll make it a bit better.

Go down, pay, get keys, and say " I'LL be back later with GF to pick jimny up" - locked it up and left.

Go back later that night, get in, start Jimny, its running like a DOG. wont idle, Stalls, no power across whole rev range, missing / rough running across whole rev range, and - SPEEDO no longer working!! ODO / TRIP METER LCD also not working??? WTF??

What have they done??? what should I do??

damn im pi$$ed right now.

Any advice?? is it easy to fry a speedo / odo whilst playing with the electrics on these things?

are there after market / option for ignition coil packs?

Thanks in advance

Jarrod.
