suzuki sierra gearbox oil fill.....
suzuki sierra gearbox oil fill.....
where abouts is the fill point for a sierra gearbox???
No need to yell trolley.
You haven't told us what model of sierra you have. The information provided is correct for a 1.3. If you have a 1.0 litre, the fill plug is on the driver's side of the case, up near the bellhousing. It's a 10mm allen key for a 1.0, 3/8" square drive for a 1.3
Regardless of the car, the fill procedure is as described - fill until it comes back out the filler.
however, if you don't have a pump, it's a pain to fill through the fill plug.
Another way of filling the box is to remove the fill plug, remove the gearshift boot and shifter, and pour the oil in through the top. Messy and stinky if you spill it on the seats/carpet whatever, but much quicker and easier.
Steve.

and to add some visual info into what Gwaygone said... I took these today as I changed the oil in my NTcase and found a broken locating bolt/pin,explains that slopy shifter!-oo macro zoomed on the n95..
Pinched the one of my spare case...blah to shitty auto focus'
This shows where the FILL point is in relation to the shifter(with a 2"bl it is xsessable thru the floor)*recomend filling thru shifter*
and obviously this is where the DRAIN plug and where the FILL plug are in realation to each other..
*note a WT case is pictured.
I also used VMX 80.. 4lit $39@SCA.. and they have a nifty pourer thing.. that means no mess $3. or so..
cheers for the thread
