assuming 1HZ engine??

first culprit would usually be a grotty fuel filter and/or algae in the fuel.

also check the air filter

more information on the vehicle (engine, km, condition, modifications etc) will help diagnosis.

cheers

its a 4.2 factory turbo, same motor as whats in the 100 series 1HDFTE, its a 2003 79 seies, yeah it just seems to stop pulling when it comes into the 1800-2200 and then you can feel the motor go back to normal, i think it might be something wrong whith the computer, i replace the fuel filter, was thinking the same thing maybe bad fuel but still doing the sam and air filter that is all good, when i run the dp chip does same thing but worse

found out the problem, it is the injector pump, only a couple off thousand later.

the injector pump aren't the best on the earlyer models, bad fuel destroys the pump easly by the sound off it and if it will happen in will between 200,000 and 270,00. not a cheap thing to have to replace, also the recomend not putting a reco one on cause they dont guarenti that it eill fix the propble cause the pump has electrics on it.
