Hi guys and girls.
Had a search and still need to ask.
I have a maverick with fibreglass flares that are a bit smashed up. I want to put on the plastic gq flares.
Just need to know from someone that has actually done it that the body actually has all the mounting spots required for the plastic flares and do i need the clips, screws etc for the plastic flares or do the ones holding on the fibreglass ones work.
I realise they should be the same bodywork.
Just hopeing to get some certain answers before i take off the old flares.
Thanks , Brad

Swapping flares - mav fibreglass to gq plastic
Re: Swapping flares - mav fibreglass to gq plastic
every patrol/maverick has the right holes for the plastic standard flares.sleeping giant wrote:Hi guys and girls.

Sorry mate, I had to laugh....MadGQPatrol wrote:dont bother with the plastic flares they will just get ripped off! go to buninings and get your self garen edging for $10 other wise. plastic one will fit but they will come off. fiber glass breaks.
I reckon the Nissan flares look awesome and are pretty tough. To rip them off they'd need some hard hitting driving styles .....and if you do buy the $10 edging stuff, it may suit your budget but causes your GQ/Mav to look cheap and nasty.
actually there is nothing to laugh abouthando wrote:Sorry mate, I had to laugh....MadGQPatrol wrote:dont bother with the plastic flares they will just get ripped off! go to buninings and get your self garen edging for $10 other wise. plastic one will fit but they will come off. fiber glass breaks.

the GQ flares have pisweak little tabs, and they do break off easily.
they do however look alot better than the bunnings garden edging, BUT donot work as well as the edging
cheers,
Jes
