most engineers will want to be involved before you start,
ken mcharg in mirboo nth and some dude in sale are the closest in the valley, ken has done quite a few 4wd's and will give you a good idea of what you need to do.

we use him at work and for my own stuff.

About 7 or 8 years ago Ken wanted $2000+ to engineer 235/85R16s (skinny 32") for my Pajero (235/75R15 (30") and 265/70R16 (31") std).

(In the days when I tried to be 110% legal)

Maybe he just didn't want my work.

You wouldnt buy the first car you saw or the first house you look at so give your self a chance and spend some time on the phone and ask some questions. Also help the blokes out your calling and have a clear plan to ask them and ask them ALL THE SAME questions otherwise you will get different answers and wont be able to make your desicion.

Also people have to remeber that they have to sign off on the paperwork and its them that can be sued/taken to court if something happens so be prepared to take some hits and win and loose some to get a legal car.

i agree that you would have to be mad to use either of these.
there is an engineer in lower plenty who said to me that anything is possible just depends on how much time and or money you want to throw at it.
i used him o a vehicle and he was great very easy to talk to and get along with

for course anything is possible if you have plenty of time and money to throw at it,

and it depands on what you want to do, if an engineer has done what you want to do before he will be happy to do it at a good price but if he hasnt they will be going thu every step bit by bit and thats why it will cost more, i never said dont shop around some have done things others havnt.
i know a couple of 4wd shops in the area that use one in melbourne

I've spoken to him about GVM increase on Patrols, but wasnt interested.. interesting, cause he did a mates Troopy few yrs back.. Robbo had good things to say about him...
Speak with him, but he seemed to want to be specialized in what he did, I asked bout also engineering 35's on the GU at the time, and he wasnt interested in talking about that either.
