cruiser driving rough on petrol 4.5l

Post by MAD80 »

i have a 93 mod 80series with 4.5l pet, its had gas fitted for about ten years now and drives fine on gas, when on petrol it runs rough, stalls, blows smoke and wont rev, unless it is flawed. i think it may have blocked injectors, could it be anything else causing these probs, iv tried running injector cleaner without any real success, my next step would be to take the injectors out and get them cleaned.

do injectors first as well as the idle air speed motor
its on the throttle body they gum up over time on pet/gas combos
if it doesnt fix it check/change the airflow meter
just went through this with my little brothers 80 4.5 pet/gas npw running

Same thing with my 80, Last owner always ran it on gas, removed the injectors, 4 flow tested okay after ultrasonic clean and 2 needed replacing, pretty common on dual fuel trucks
