steering damnper with jimny power steer in a sierra

Post by oozuk »

I'm wanting to know what other people have done to mount a steering damnper when they've installed jimny powersteering into there sierra.

I thought about swapping over pitman arms from the original sierra steering box but the output splines are different from box to box,

Is there any jimny's that came out with a steering damnper ?

Do any of the jimny's pitman arms have the two holes in them to mount the bracket from the sierra pitman arm onto them.

cheers for the help in advance ;)

Maybe nobody bothers with a damper once they have power steering.

i have drilled the pitman arm in the drill press and fitted the normal sierra leafy bracket and welded the pin onto the chassis support bar, that was easy, i have also used the tough dog bolt on dampner, not as good imho.

cheers mark.

tough dog bolt on damper is crap, it is limiting and flogs out the tie rod ends on your drag link, and if you have decent travel you just bend it aswell, they are stupid, i am re mounting mine like old sierras.
