Coily Body on Wide Track Chassis

Post by zook_isaac »

I back flipped my 1992 Seirra widetrack with removeable hard top on the weekend and have wrecked the bonnet, windscreen surround, roof, passenger door and the roll bar. I rang round some of the local wreckers (North Tas) and have been able to find a 1996 Sierra Hard Top. What I was wondering was will the Hard Top Body bolt onto my chassis?

P.S Does anyone know of any places I can ring for replacement panels?

being in tassie kinda limits your options (shipping costs). It might be cheaper in the end to buy another WT zuk (complete) and swap parts over.

most importantly though - wheres the pics and video of the flip?

I was thinking that about shipping costs.
No body had a camera out till I had landed on my roof.
Will post some pics of damage later

that looks like it would have been one hell of a fun ride.

My zook has more body damage than that. If i where you, i would organise all the parts you can't get locally in somewhere like melbourne, grab a trailer or a ute and take a road trip with a few mates.

I'm sure someone on here would allow you to put the parts in their shed for a couple of weeks so you can make the trip and get it all in one hit. Hell one or two may even be nice enough to meet you closer to the fairy for some alcoholic beverages and or fuel costs.

Thats good to know. Did it require any modifying as such or did it just bolt straight on?

Didnt touch the brakes, it hit the lip at the top of the hill and fired the fron wheels up in the air and sat there for about a second then it stalled and fell over backwards

still could happen, you bounce the front wheels up and stomp the brakes it allows the car to have a fixed pivot point to rotate about which is what it looks like in those pics.
