J top clutch

Post by jop »

G'day fellas,

Getting a few quotes together for a new clutch on my 94 jtop 3ltr, it seems it is a bitch of a job due to the welded in crossmember. especially in mine with the hydraulic lift mechanism bulking up the crossmember.

Quotes so far have been hard to get a solid number, but have been around the $1500+ range

Has anyone got any contacts in brissy for this kind of job.

Cheers
Mark

I had mine done by the TyrePower at Redcliffe - nowhere near that money.

Or you could try Motorcare 4wd at Bowen Hills - they swapped my transfer case for half the price anybody else wanted.

Thanks scott, i'll chase them up.

The price is high because they apparently need to remove the engine to access the clutch. The quotes i have so far are from a well known 4wd workshop and a dedicated clutch workshop, both in the redlands.

If you're out that way, I'd try Bayside 4x4. John knows Pajeros very well.
