im after new suspension, i want a 2 inch lift kit. for my 92 sierra. i want a bolt on kit with everything springs, shocks, bushes, steering damper.
so far these are the prices ive gotten so far, are
efs shocks and lovell springs - $1400
tjm kit - $1500
efs kit (ebay) - $1455 posted
ironman - $1095
old man emu - $1120
im looking for something local. im in the wide bay area. willing to travel to gympie, bunderberg, hervey bay and maryborough and place like that. all those prices are un-fitted and thats what im looking for as im going to fit it myself.
any suggestions would be great, thanks

i had lovells in mine and they were fantastic - one of the only brands that does a 2" leaf thats longer to compensate for the added arc!
You really want to get some soft leaves and firm shocks... unless its spring lift you're specifically chasing - then you're almost guaranteed a stiff ride.

OME is around $100 a spring, no idea what a kit is worth as i made my own kit using OME springs and cheap supercheap shocks and other parts. Mine came to a total of around $650

I said around $100 
. the fronts were $88.50ea and the rears were $105.50. I thought it was pretty good as well but i didnt ask for a good price or anything that is just what they gave it to me at. I also got my shocks at a good price but that was staff discount, 25% 
. Bushes were a cashie from Dobinsons but i still feel i was ripped even though i got the set for $100 when they wanted $180.

OME were the cheapest leaves around when I bought my suspension over 18months ago (I bought medium duties). Their bushes are reasonably priced (always use OME bushes if you use OME springs, as all others that Ive seen are too small), u-bolts are slightly expensive (others worse), and it depends on which of their shocks you get as to whether they are cheap or exy.
Yep they give a good ride, and flex quite well (other factors in my suspension being the limiting factor). However the front ones on mine did not like taking huge amounts of punishment. I bent them numerous times when inverting my shackles (standard Sierra fronts dont seem to bend, and straighten when the shackle is put back). My rears are still OK. On another note: OME lifted fronts are not longer than WT fronts, the rears however are (The rears also move the axle location slightly)

Wheeling on completely wicked angles, without even looking stable.
i got a eBay 50mm lift.
I got mine brand new for 400 with everything but he was asking 700
if i was to do it again i would just buy the set of eBay which doesn't co me with shocks, its around 400 or so.
Then head to super cheap nd buy the hilux and commodore shocks.
I also took out my load leaf for a bit better flex and will be opening up the leaf clamps on the weekend for a bit better flex.
Thats a cheap way to do it. Mine isn't the most confortable on the road but its not really bad.
I also took my swaybar off.
Flex was much better.
Works good for me, and its cheap..
though i wouldnt recommend the eBay kit if you plan on doing alot of traveling.

so other than being uncomfortable an not suited to travelling it was cheap so that's ok. Or you could spend about $450 and get the OME Dakar springs which are comfortable, suitable for travelling and work really well and are just as cheapnick.gooding wrote:i got a eBay 50mm lift.

No that's not what i said, i said i wouldnt change it, that i would have just changed my shocks.
Compared to what it was like standard it hasn't really changed.
so which are better for offroad and onroad use ome or lovell/efs. is it worth payin the extra for the lovell kit.
