GQ Bonnet scoop, GQ or GU

Post by leary393 »

What is the best looking bonnet scoop for a GQ. I have a GU scoop but i'm unsure if i should mount it, as the GU is alot rounder than the GQ.
(I think the rounded shape is better suited to the GU)

I have seen a scoop on a mates GQ years ago, That from memory, he said was a factory GQ scoop.

Does any1 have any pics, info, or goods?
I would also like to see some pics of GQ's with GU scoops to help make up my mind. (I have seen the ute in the pic section of nissan, and I have searched for hours) Just can't find the one I have in mind.

Has anyone read through the bonnet-scoop tech thread on here? Might be something worth looking at before jumping in and cutting holes in your car.

Here are some vents that do not cut any bonnet struts and work well.

Yes Coxy I have read The bonnet scoop section. Mine is purely for airflow to a top mount cooler. Still havn't seen the one I had in mind. I think it was a little smaller than the GU scoop. I can't tell from that bighorn pic if that is simailar.
Might look completely diferent on a GQ

I did a google-image search for "bonnet scoop" the other day that brought up some interesting options. I'm sure there's a few older 1980-1990 vintage jap cars with scoops that would suit and would be fairly cheap.

and dont stick up high enough into the air flow...
I've PM'ed several of the fiberglass mobs on here to see if they would be interested in doing custom scoops, with like WRX 3inch opening instead of the 3cm one that is currently on there.
Compare the 2
