Mine is under the tray also, and on the surf airbox, it would only fit certain models i have a ln65 and the airbox will not fit without modifying the guard or top of the airbox, the intake pipe would come out the bonnet.

I jut connected the air box to the rubber pipe that already was connected to the snorkel, straight to surf air box.

I found the surf airbox was a bit of stuffing around to fit to my ln106... it has an AXT turbo fitted and the crossover pipe sits further back than the 2LT crossover pipe, which has a kink in it to allow easier access to the oil filler on the rocker cover.
What this meant is I lined the surf airbox up to suit the crossover pipe but now the intake side of the airbox does not line up very well with the snorkle hole in the guard. It needs a rubber pipe 75mm diameter one end with a two way "S" bend in a short space reduced down to 60mm or so for the surf airbox inlet. Apparently this type of thing is available from truck supply shops.
If you have a turbo, with the 2LT crossover pipe, I think everything would line up fine.
You also need the battery tray from Surf. It's a flimsy bit of sheet steel that can be tacked into place... it will fit perfectly if you have gen 3 lux.
I drilled and bolted my airbox into place. I had to make up a small bracket because of the AXT crossover pipe meant the airbox couldn't bolt in to the exact factory Surf location.
I will put up some pics when I get time.
