What has been previously said is good advice Chicy, work with the platform you have. For a larger IFS vehicle like the Surfs, an SAS is a good idea, but for the Suzuki's, spend the money on lockers, gearing, and work on getting the 32's you want to fit nicely in guards.
If you still want to work on the driveline, theres still the aftermarket axles, etc... to strengthen things up.

Hello Squik.....

I watched your build very intently over a period of time and had myself convinced that was how i was gunna do my build...

I tried contacting you several times on 4WD Action Forum by PM, but never got a reply and tried to speak to some of the main moderators on that site and never got anything from them either, so i stopped going to the site....

I then had a friend lend me the dvd on the test drive on Oscar after all was finished with the mods and was disappointed that it didnt really show Oscar handling anything medium to hardcore. Then i started contacting businesses and 4wd ppl stating that i was gunna do that build with the calmini kit etc. and they told me that most of it had to be ripped back out and that other stuff was substituted and that the build didnt really work that well..... so became disappointed that it wouldnt be worth doing anything to the X90...

Now i hear that you sold it and that it lives up near Armidale somewhere..

Is that all you need to do, Locked with stock tyres will do that

If that is waht you are looking to do, even my Vitara with 31", 6" kit and an LSD will go places some of those supersizes won't.

Get the 6" Calmini Kit , Front Steel GV housing, or Anvil (Calmini part), Lock it and Run 32" and then you won't just follow them, they will have to try and follow you

A mate and I comp a SWB Vit set up like that but with a Toyota CV conversion and on 35" Crawlers and we show up heaps of the big trucks ;)

X heaps.

I'd add some transfer gears though, or you'll have hit everything really hard which will be hard on the car and risky on hard terrain.

Transfer gears are quite cheap.

They do like the business for a vitara for sure for road use.

No substitute for transfer gears offroad though.

OME Suspension lift
2 inch bodylift
Cut guards
F+R lockers
Toyota CV conversion
TT Undertaker or OTT Kicker 2
31-32's

that's what i'd be doing. Would be far cheaper than a SAS too and drive better as well

Much less likley to attract to much of the wrong kind of attention as well.

Thanks everyone, i really appreciate the imput here...

Still tryin to get the photo,s right to upload (Not real good at that)

Have just purchased a nice mig welder for the job...

Have decided to go with the 60 series diffs, with Hilux transfer case...

I agree, i should go the 35" tyres, but i just cant see how i can make them fit and still be able to use it as my daily driver as the guards would have to be chopped too much, but still measuring and planning..... if there is a way, i will do it.... :D

I see that Mannel Motors X-90 around Broadbeach on the Gold Coast most days. Often muddy and with bigger SS MT-117 and roof basket and spare on the roof. Looks good in its own way...
