Engine light flashing and rodeo wont start???
i went to start the rodeo (3.5L v6 140 000k) this morning and it just kept ticking ovetr and woulndnt start.
the engine light was flashing and the manual says nothin.
i am on a slight hill but nothin major , i rollded back so its level about a metre and turned it over again and its all sweet started perfect engine light stopped flashing .
why would this do this is it electrical or is the fuel pump or somethin on its way out . it has done this a few times and have no idea

It could be the immobilizer or the earth points for the immobilizer. Not an uncommon fault. Check all the earth points in the engine bay (all the wires from the harness that mount to the body), remove the bolts, make sure that they're making good contact with a metal surface and not paint. Then theres a point in the cab, under the passenger seat under the floor carpet/vynal, there's a point there that needs to be cleaned and the terminal soldered to the wiring harness.

Hows your engine oil level, iv seen this before, they can chew through a bit of oil and rodeos wont start if its low, that could be your fault light and why it started when you were on level ground.peeko22 wrote:i went to start the rodeo (3.5L v6 140 000k) this morning and it just kept ticking ovetr and woulndnt start.

We had this same problem with one of our work vehicles, the only way could get it to start was uncouple the cables from the computer then plug then back in.
I think they eventually replaced the computer.
