I've been running nighstalker 170s for over 3 years, replaced original bulbs right back at start with 130W entry level narva bulbs, so far no dulling no discolouring no chips or cracks and I use mine every single day. As a bonus we fired em up side by side with my mates lightforces and realised mine go further and wider, I never understood how these magical lightforce could be so superior....seems there not. Also the nightstalker has no name or badge so no one will knock em off and at only $100 a pair they're very good, rumour has it there actually Cibies. I've said it before don't think the original price or name value means much, sometimes products get a good rap for nothing.

You may still be able to find a test online where nightstalkers made brands multiple timed their price look silly but it was a while ago.

Cheers guys, how hard is it to fit the ebay HID kits to the NightStalkers?

I'm pretty basic when it comes to wiring, etc.

I just had a quick look on ebay and noticed that NiteStalkers are actually available in HID direct from the factory now. $355 a pair....hmmm

Would it be worth me buyin a pair of factory HID's or getting the Halogens and upgrading them?

i just installed a set of NiteStalker 180's. 160 and 180's are the polycarbonate ones and the 170's are the metal ones.

I reckon for $80 the 180's are great value.

I prefer the polycarbonate reflectors mainly for the weight saving.

Does anyone know if you can get clear lens covers?

Wonder how easy it would be to install a HID kit in them???

I hate to say it, but the cheaper 160 and 180 poly nitestalkers are like half burnt candles compared to the metal 170's, as far as output goes.

At half the price and for the fact I don't need to see from NSW into WA I can't complain.

One of the problems with awsome lights is you have to dim them so early. I keep looking to upgrade my elcrapo driving lights but wonder how much better use i will get out of them. so there might be alot to be said for the cheaper poly ones if you get a bit more use out of them at half the price.
*there's a rock, drive over it :) there's a bigger rock, drive over it  there's an even bigger rock, oops broke it  Upgrade broken bit :bad-words:

The main reason I really want to upgrade my spotties is because the candles i currently have are lucky to go any further then a standard high beam headlight. After driving from Jindabyne to Berridale last week at night and seeing no less than 40 dead roos, I realised that seeing another 200-300 metres down the road would indeed be a blessing.

My nitestalkers are about 8 years old & still going strong, saw service on the MK & now on the GQ.

Great value for money & give me anough vision for what I need.

I did have a set of Narvas & they were good but the stakers are better in my book.

Edit: Australian 4x4 Adly did a comparo a few years back on drving lights & the stalkers came out best value for money vs output. They were not the best output but they put a lot of other big brand lights to same.
Don't ask me, ask them. I'm just runnin for my life myself.
Well they are all following you...
No they ain't, I'm just in front...............

definitely I was more reffering to the comment of needing (or not) to see from nsw to wa. if you get what i mean.

I did the same drive a fortnight ago and was wishing i had better headlights.

Any chance of getting an ebay link to a H3 HID kit that fits the Nite Stalker 170's?

Do the 170's come as one spread/one spot combination, or both spot or spread?

There was someone on eBay selling them for $100 a set. Same seller now has them for $149 including express delivery.
