Wheel Spacers

Post by beebee »

Does anybody know of a cheaper source of wheel spacers for a hilux than snake? Possibly someone works or knows somewhere to get them machined?

weeeeeeeeeeeeeelllll the material is 800 a meter, and i can have them made for 40 each (not including material) so if you can find say another 3-4 people that want them we can chip in and it would work out to be alot less than buying them yourself.

I'll try and convince a mate of mine (hybrid) to cough up some $$$. Apart from that the only other person that I can think of is Richard from 4x4 Engineering but he'd probably get them done himself if he'd wanted them. That yellow hilux extra cab that was in his shop for ages could do with some. I'll try to think of some others.

was talking to my mate that works at rivera with Aaron (the guy that owns it) and he said he rolled it and smashed all the windscreen and surround.

He apparently laid it on it's side and slid down some sort of embankment. Damage was not severe. The A pillar was slightly bent and a broken windscreen. It didn't cost him too much (couple of hundred) to have eveything straightened and new glass. This was done at ormeau before christmas when buddy posted up the pics. Bubs mentioned that someone had rolled but didn't go into much detail.

I wasn't there but this was the story that I was told.

heres how it stands,

they are 160 for 4, wheel studs and nuts are 2.50 each, so thats 60 bucks (would be cheaper to buy in bulk so we will say 40 bucks)

the material is 800 a meter, if 5 people want 1.5 inch spacers then you will need 30 inch, so you buy a meter to allow for waste. then.....800/5 works out to be 160 a person. I have only phoned one place for the steel, 1000 from one place and 800 from the next. a few more phone calls and we could get it cheaper.

anyway, if 5 people want them it you be $360 for 4 1.5 inch spacers, not a big saving compared to snakes price but still a saving.
Also on that number of spacers i could get the labour cost down so there would be another saving there, but it presently stands at 360

Here`s food for thought.

Why not ask about a bulk buy off snake racing?

Might be cheaper

Oh and what about studs and nuts?

this is probably a better solution, as nick talked about this like a year ago and it never got off the ground!!

the only reason it didnt is because you and me were the only ones interested and everyone else bailed out on us.
