Hi all,
Ive read a few posts and was wondering if its worthwhile to upgrade my booster and MC to a 80 series one? Ive had brake problems which I think I have sorted out now and have a spare 1" master cylinder here so I thought it would be good to find a 80 series booster to fit.
Is it worth it or is it not worth the trouble (I'll need to buy the booster and get the MC rebuilt).
Also, Camry and Cressida boosters are known to fit. Can anyone shed any light on this, as Im sure a Camry or Cressida booster and MC will be alot cheaper than a 80 series!

80 series booster on Hilux

Got hold of a 80 series booster. For anyone who has put one on their lux, does the spacer between the firewall and booster need to go on the back of the 80 series one?
My single diaphragm on has a backing plate about 1inch deep although the landcruiser one doesnt seem to need it or else the booster bolts arent long enough to go through the firewall.

booster
Just finished playing with these set ups..
ended up using hilux Master with 80 series booster.. works great...
watch out using Camry and Cressida boosters the one I got had different centres for the bolts to the fire wall.. master will fit but I found that it pushed to much fluid..
As I said unless you are making big changes to the size of slave cylinders I would keep the existing master..
If you want to try for your self, I have a mix of masters and boosters that I need to get rid of...

booster
Also, the 80 series booster is about 1 1/2" larger in dia. so I had to space out the excelrator cable with washers on the inside bolt (2mm) gives you just enough room to fit it in..
When you fit the 80 series booster it needs to go in upside-down which means you will need to get a new vacume hose.. (I used fuel line from supercrap $7 /m) works great..
