new owner of 4.2 Diesel and need advice

Post by nushcan1102 »

Gentlemen, just bought a white 99 TD4.2 ST today, fricken haggled for 3 hours, gotta love car dealers but I drove it home tonight.

I am happier than a pig in mud can't get smile of face , 2.5 inch etc, but really unknown until mechanic looks at it on Monday. Love the power and sound of the beast!!

I have a number of questions
1. What turbo timer is best and easiest to fit
2. Can I transfer cruise control and indicator stalk form 4.5 to 4.2, anyone done it advice please
3. I need a good diesel specialist in Wollongong to have a look at it, referrals, advice??

That will do for starters, thanks in advance

Big thirsty 4.5 GU and now a 99 ST 4.2TD that I will unveil once BigWhitey is ready

You dont need one, they are a waste of money

Cheaper and easier to fit aftermarket one.

Pretty much what bogged said, I only use my turbo timer to keep my car running (and be able to use the keys to lock it) while I go to an atm or whatever on cold mornings.
