i recently fitted a 3" mandrel bent system from the back of the turbo. It is sensational. The turbo spools up faster, I have better acceleration and the note is very nice. It is not too loud nor does it drone.
Was going to get a sterling exhaust but they could not supply one for 3 weeks so my local exhaust shop (The Exhaust Brothers) made one up for me all mandrel bent, the works.

Hope this helps

3" dump and 3" system with a straight through muffler seems to be the best set-up on the 1kzte...

Eng-Tek make a good 3" dump pipe, however he has just put his price up to $330.

Here's the link if you want to have a look...
