Power Output of a 2.8 Diesel Hilux with Turbo Fitted
Just got back from the Dyno guys after getting the hilux checked out now the engine has a few KM's on it and the Turbo is fitted.
Anyway with 32 x 11.5 x 15 Mud tyres and a 2/1/2 inch system it got the following figures
Torque - 107FtLb @ 67kmph
Power 35HP@88 kmph
So I have no ideas how this compares to thers with a similiar vehicle but I would be keen to hear.
Cheers,

RUFF, the 304 in the VL was the most underpowered Holden V8 I can think of! It was released during all the unleaded/pollution change over era....
In my 6cyl VL i could accelerate way faster than my friends VL Calais V8....
NO 5 litre Holden motor has ever had 150kw at the rear wheels....even Brock specials only had around 170-190 at the Flywheel.
Anyway, I might be wrong.....but STOCK and 150kw at the rears...doubt it mate!
Always late in a 2.8

yeah, last 5L v8 was in vt series one, had about 165kw(i think hsv had 195kw)at fly wheel, though power at rear wheels depends on transmission(torque converter in auto effect rear wheel power as well as other stuff like diff ration) vl carby 5L had 136kw about, less than VL turbo (150kw) . vt genIII has 220kw in vt form and VX GENIII has 225kw. HSV had more around 250kw in vt and 255 in vx. VY 260KW. i think these are correct. i work at a holden dealership as mechanic but my memory is pretty no good. The walkies also had twin throttle bodys and i think they were 304ci and the carby was 308ci though i not deffinatley suire if these cappacitys are right. duno if this any help or i just rambling on.
