If vehicle is fully loaded with camping gear, I would go down to 25 as a start. BUT MAKE SURE YOU DRIVE ACCORDINGLY.Middo wrote:im goin to DI next weekend and im not excactly sure what tyre pressure i should use. i was told 18 by the guy i bought it off but i would like others opinions. as u probably know i drive a 91 4runner on 33's. just wondering what pressure u guys think i should use at. cheers.
Once car is unloaded you could easily go to 20.
If you strike very soft sand then drop a few psi again.
Just be sure you adjust your driving to suit the soft tyres
And pump them back up when back on the blacktop.
enjoy your trip!
cheers

Id go 18-20, and see how it goes. shouldnt be any drama at that pressure, just drive sensibly. When I had 33s on my 80s I ran 18psi offroad and lowered it to 15psi in situations I wanted more traction. 4runner is several hundred kg lighter than a cruiser, so 18psi should be a good starting point
If the tyres are squealing in soft sand, you probably need to drop a bit more air
