Winch Rope
Ok guys, I'm at the stage were my winch cable is rat s(-)!t, i've been looking at the stuff Tigers11 is selling with a hawse fairlead. Has any body had experise with this rope, any info on it would be helpful.
Thanks Red Dog
Thanks Red Dog
I bought a winch of him last week a 12000lb tigerz11 (rope model), i had been looking at winchs for a while, we had previouslly bought one for my mates Hilux a 10,000lb of evil Ebay not sure of the brand and it is working well, i was going to buy the same until i decided to pay extra and go the tigerz due to the rope,
Im more than happy i did, great service and it fitted exallent, the main reason i went the rope model was the weight, my mates 10,000lb weighed 42kg and Paul told me the tigerz with the rope came in about 24kg, i struggled to believe that weight but he was spot on, so i was rapt as you will find less weight is always a bonus,

All good to hear, I've got a TJM Ox witch is a a T-max anyway, have just finshed rebuilding it after the it broke a brake shoe ( Winching a dead magna up a stepe drive way ). So it has copped a full rebuild, seled with 5psi of air feading the motor and exitting via a 10mm brether back to the fire wall, i do some pritty major winching.
Technically you should treat it like a snatch strap - if it gets dirty it needs to be washed and dried. Dirt is abrasive and will damage the rope. Most rope users i know (and myself) only fit it when we're heading out wheeling, it is removed for daily car usage.HANCOCK wrote:Is it absorbent? Is it necessary to unroll and dry frequently? Will it rote I’m thinking of switching would like to know as I don’t do it to the steel and would say I will not do it the rope.
Thanks nathan
Sunlight/UV tends to damage them too over a period of time.

I don't know how much the tigerz rope is but it would be worth checking out Nobles for the cost of Supermax. From what i have seen and experienced the Supermax outperformed anything else and you could trust it.
But you need to maintain any rope as the abrasion will make it more likely to wear out quicker.

Re: rope
Farkin' expensive. Was quoted something like $25 a metre for 11mm the other week over the phone. Went with the made in Denmark 10mm for $10.78 a metre instead.A.R.T Racing wrote:I don't know how much the tigerz rope is but it would be worth checking out Nobles for the cost of Supermax.
