Balljoints

Post by PJ.zook »

Anyone know if you can buy balljoints that fit in zook balljoint holes for the steering? Want to make my own steering arms.

You talking about Tie Rod ends PJ?

I can get them. Actually I have two in my car, about to make a draglink for my setup.

$35 bucks each for 555 Japanese made tierod ends with correct taper for the sierra steering components.

PM me if interested. Could probably drop them off at B4T this week later on if you want them.

Cheers,
Dan

Thanks for that, are they commonly available from bearing joints or are they a special order thing? I ask because everything i make, i try to use common parts so if i breakdown in bumfark nowhere, its more likely i can get parts.

I don't know, I guess you will have to ask at a bearing joint. Any aftermarket parts interpretor at a bearing joint worth their salt should be able to track them down for you.

i'm gonna buy a few more to keep as spares, they are cheap enough.

You can also get your steering components retapered to an FJ series toyota taper. I guess you can then easily get parts and have the added benefit of a chunkier tie rod end, although the ones I have a pretty bloody big and if the standaard ones can last 20 years then I don't think these are going to have a problem.
