G`day guys,
just a quick question ... I have a 77 fj40 and want to put in a lockrite diff lock.. I know that a ARB air locker would be best but as money is an issue, lockright in the rear is what I've chosen..
With a standard diff firstly what is the gear ratio?
and whats the best..(reliable) source to buy one?
Thanks guys

or you could go give Superior an extra $95 for the same thing
http://www.superiorengineering.com.au/p ... ts_id=1995
or

but then youre only a couple of nights in the pub away from a second hand ARB..
The ratio of the gears isnt important, the gears arent even touched during the installation of one of these type lockers.

shop online in the states.
i got a richmond gear one a few years back and it was cheap.
$350US or something?
they are the good lockrites, my understanding is the aussie knockoff is not as good... just what ive heard here and there... never used one.
i used the richmond gear one from the US in my 40 without problems.
i forget the name of the store though sorry.

yep the richmond lockright is the way i was going to go... I've heard the same as you... but only through the grapevine.. not from anyone who has had one. they said that it was harsh on engaging and disengageing.. and that things broke... but as i said only here say nothin first hand...
thanks for the gear ratio.. they are somthing I know nothing about and wouldn't atempt without supervision.
I will give superior a call.. have delt with them before and found them to be very helpful, so may as well try em again!
once again thanks guys... I'm a happy little camper now!!!!
