KZJ90 Prado semi drowned

Post by nicinnz »

These pics are from yesterday when we were out with our club, A new member brought along their Prado SWB, fist trip for her. She handed over the wheel to another friend, thought they would try it out in a bit of a bog. Was a little to deep for the Prado's air intake, see smoke in photos, wasnt running to well. We snatched it out lifted the bonnet and the air cleaner was full of water. OOPS. We took the intercooler off and water ran out of that, took the glow plugs out and wound it over, refitted glow plugs, started it up with the intercooler off and the turbo was pumping heaps of water out. refitted the intercooler after draining it. Started and ran fine. The owner is a very lucky person as I reckon another cup full of water would of hydraulicked it.
