Play in the steering joints or steer box? All adds up.

Wheels balanced?

Tyre pressures?

Assuming you adjusted the bearings correctly?

Depending on what tires and what steering setup you have the dampeners dont do much except take the shock instead of your hands when you hit a rock etc.

i have high steer and dont run a dampener dont notice it

tires more than likely are the problem try another set on the front if you have any and see how it goes...
