Your best bet is to check out a few members threads, its been covered plenty.
Get your box as far forward as possible, use a flat pitman arm to get the draglink away from the tie rod. And check all clearances before welding.
Use the top 3 rears and a couple from the old front pack. Swap and change until you get the height and flex you want. Use an cut down leaf as a spacer on the drivers side pack to rectify the lean.

You will have to be careful with clearance with the pitman arm and leaf spring.fiftyfrenzy wrote:thanks for the help guys.

Think its +3-5°
The castor plates you need will depend on what setup you go with, will probably need to check once you have done it all.

Re: ruf
I would put the shackle through the frame or it'll put your caster up the shit, especially if you're running a longer shackle.highersurf wrote:hey all been racking my brain to figure out wat ruf stands for (i must be the dumbest hilux/surf nut). also been great reading all this tech info as i want to solid swap into in 91 surf i have a front diff out of a 80/81 single cab (with the long manual hubs) would this still be ok to use? i'll be bracing the diff over the front of the pumkin etc. also im looking at 1 to 2 in drop hanger setup across the front under the radiator with weld on under the frame rear shackle set up wat pit man arm can i run off the std pwr steer box? oh and to the bloke who stopped for 20 minutes at pacific pines last wkend so i could pick ur brain on ur set up i cant remember ur name on here or where to look up ur rig. thanks to anyone reading and helping out
I would also cut off the old steering box mount, move it forward or tilt and brace it, or it'll crack. Use a 80 series, 2wd lux or flat pitman arm. You're going high steer right?
ruf...
hi all thanks for the help. yeah im looking into high steer setup for it as the steer rod on the diff i'll be using is bent anyway. was going to run wxtended shackles insted i was looking at the supiour swivel type so i can lock them in on the road. or just get springs with lift in them. its all a slow process and be buying it all first so i have it installed in minimal down time
i know i have to body lift it to the clear the shock hoops as well
