Not at the moment, they appears to be a couple of vehicles still being worked on and will not know until later.vanbox wrote:competitor list yet?
I can say that we have 12 starters plus those still swinging spanners.
Weekend extra starters see another 5 if all goes to their plans.
We spent all day setting up 6SS for Saturday; 2 sprint SS & 4 different SS. Tomorrow we finish tidying up those that need some clearing, then we start marking Sundays SS.
Due to numbers we will be running 2 SS at a time, Saturday will see both groups of 2 SS starting in the same start box and competing very close together.
The spectator days will be very visible and require very little moving around.
Competition vehicle will start and finish in the spectator area.
By doing this everyone will be able to view the vehicles and get to talk to competitors while they are waiting to run.
This will also give the Teams a chance to show off their sponsors.
Cheers

Had the opportunity to get out and see quite a few stages over the weekend. Like Olly, I was surprised at the amount of mechanical damage as the tracks didn't really look like they should have had that sort of result. I guess that the old saying about "Tracks don't break cars - stopwatches do !" must be the explanation.
Congratulations to Metcalfe and crew - the tracks are well layed out and the flow of cars was great. There was no big "gaps" in the action and the tracks that were designed with spectators in mind worked really well. Next Friday night under lights will be a real spectacle - GET OUT TO SEEONEE AND WATCH THE AWESOME "OFF ROAD MAGIC".
Had a quick look at the scores from Metcalfe's link (Thanks Dave) - I even sorted them into order (HINT !): AFAIK "parts" type penalties have not yet been deducted - these progress scores are purely for the Stages and SS Penalties.
1045 - Christian Trusz & Terry Kane
928 - Brad Drummond & Phil Macready
917 - Michael Camac & Jason Enright
895 - Jason St John & Greg Ward
892 - Mark Thomas & Luke Ingham
865 - Shane Marsden & Trent Wuft
807 - Lynda & Aaron Ward
797 - Joel Thompsen & Paul Espig
769 - Cameron Johnson & Sam O’Kieffe
729 - Brad Dukes & Mick Upham
566 - Reece Burgess & Sam Dow
543 - Ben McCamley & Shai Reynolds
357 - Troy Tenheggeler & Troy Carriage
With another 6 days of competition remaining who knows what the table will look like by the end of the week.
I couldn't help but notice that EIGHT of the 13 cars are from CQ. What a great indication of the strength of the sport in our area and a huge "thumbs up" to Dave for bringing the XI to Rockhampton. I guess that's where the market is now !!!!!!
Good luck to all of the teams for the rest of the week.
Vince.
PS: Congratulations must go to our local MLA's Paul Hoolihan (Keppel) and Robert Schwarten (Rockhampton) for taking time out of their extremely busy schedules to attend the Drivers Briefing on Saturday Morning to welcome the Teams and mix with the competitiors and spectators. Robert and Paul also took the opportunity to grab a Co-driver seat for a 1st hand look at what the sport has to offer. I am sure that both of them left with a far better understanding of Off Road 4wding as a sport.

C'mon Dave ! Put that Corona down and pick up the keyboard.
What was the carnage on Day Three ? Is Crazy Eyes gonna make it past Wednesday or will Skip win that bet ? Did Troy H and Troy C keep it on it's wheels ? Did CJ cause ear trauma to any other Marshals ? How about Reece in the wheel standing GQ Shorty ?

Crazy is still going strong!
Cj Crushed one of the exhaust pipes, it is so noisy, but it sounds top notch!
The Troy's left it on its feet today! Those two are a laugh!
Reece got stuck on the main log with a rooted right CV, front and rear winch's down had to be winched aside!
Two gps runs and one very long Creek run with an 1hr DNF today!
They Head out to Private property tommorrow, there will be carnage to report and to see who survive's
Keep going Donkees, Houndy and Crazy, GOOD LUCK!

Re: EFS XI
Thanks Dave,
Here they are in place order (for numerically challenged individuals like me).
1290 - Christian Trusz & Terry Kane
1151 - Brad Drummond & Phil Macready
1108 - Jason St John & Greg Ward
1069 - Mark Thomas & Luke Ingham
1065 - Shane Marsden & Trent Wust
1039 - Lynda & Aaron Ward
1017 - Joel Thompsen & Paul Espig
999 - Michael Camac & Jason Enright
947 - Cameron Johnson & Sam O’Kieffe
928 - Brad Dukes & Mick Upham
680 - Reece Burgess & Sam Dow
634 - Ben McCamley & Shai Reynolds
485 - Troy Tenheggeler & Troy Carriage
Looks like Christian and Terry kept it together again today - well done ! Michael and Jason must have had an absolute shocker thought, grabbing only 82 points from 3 Stages and dropping from 3rd to 8th in one Day - OUCH !
Apparently Crazy Eyes must have let Wardy operate the GPS (either that or he used his good eye to focus on the screen ).
From all accounts tomorrow will sort the Men from the Boys (which side does Barbie go ?). I overheard Metcalfe Psyching someone out by threatening winch hills over 200 metres long (with several anchor points of course). All will be revealed tomorrow !
Good luck to all - thanks for the swift work on the progressive points Dave (I hope that they're right !!!! )

Hi Vince. thanks for the comments.
Teams get to look at all point and time sheets as we go, this keeps it very open.
If there is a mistake made with the scoring it is sorted very quickly.
Its not bad have 26 proof readers.
Yes today is where men are made. I hope everyone tackles these SS with a bit of care.
Hopefully we will finish there today if not back again on Thursday.
I will have a full report on todays SS tonight at:-

QUICK UPDATE FROM DAY 4 VENUE ....
Word from Dukes'y is that it is TOUGH out there. Quite a few DNF's due to missed turns/markers on one SS in particular. The BIG winch hill saw some cars winching up to 10 times (anyone wanna buy a slightly secondhand 6HP motor ?). According to Brad, CJ has claimed bragging rights for the BIG hill so far. Apparently the light weight vehicle and massive torque from the 355 stroker was just what the Doctor ordered.
More info to come ...
