You do realise this will make your high range gearing lower than your current low range?

You'll also end up with the same overall gearing as running 6.5 transfer gears.

That's a lot of stuffing around to end up with terrible road gearing and the same off road gearing as you can bolt in.

I've tried to work out of it's possible in a LWB and it would be a nightmare. The first case would have to be clocked horizontal and the second vertical..... pretty much where the driver's seat is now.

If you really want twins, (and I'm not sure there's a good reason) look at the various ways of using a vitara gearbox and transfer with a sierra transfer behind that. The direct high range of the vitara case makes the car drivable on the road.

I don't think he said he was trying to put twins in.

i think he was talking about putting a 1L case in instead of a 1.3...

Hey all it needs is a light, and your original flanges and it will bolt straight in :D if it doesn't have the 4wd activation light the spline count is different...

At the risk of sounding like an old guy that hangs around outside primary schools I can translate kid speak :D

I have a 1.3 suzuki and Ive damaged the 1.3lt transfer case. Im not going to fix it as I now have a 1lt transfer case that I would like to put in.
Has anyone done this before and what were the pros and cons.
Also any tips would be very helpful.

No worries mate.
Im pretty sure if its a 1lt case with switch light (plug right at the front of the case with wires coming off) it will bolt up.
But there is some differences with zuk bolt hole patterns ( I just go to my parts pile) possibly narrow track to wide track were different.
Maybe pm 31zook he just did this mod.

If he's looking at cutting down the tailshaft, i'd suggest he's leaving the t-case handbrake on.....

from memory that's when you need the NT bolt pattern...

i was tempted with mine, but pulled it off in the end for simplicity... plus from all accounts i've had, the t-case handbrake is no better than the widetrack rear handbrake for maintaining tension.

Judging by your signature, i think you may have missed the important part of mentioning it being an SJ80.

Firstly, it bolts straight to the mounts on the chassis when you use the original mounts for the 1L case.

You needed a jackshaft from a 1.3L Leaf Sprung model, it's the right length.

You also can't just swap the SJ80 Flanges onto the 1L case. Whilst the splines are identical, the SJ80 flanges are shorter and won't bolt up tight. I'd assume using 1.3L Leaf Sprung flanges would bolt straight on, but myself, i just machined bits off the 1L flanges to use as spacers so that you could bolt the flanges on tight and messed around making up my own protective covers for the seals using bits laying around.
